If you’re after sports and high level hoops, Melbourne is the destination for you.

People in Melbourne live and breathe basketball, with over 50% of Australia’s basketball players being registered here. There’s close to 20 high level semi-professional teams to compete against and with large and passionate following of college hoops in town, this is the best stop for high level competition whilst on tour.

Melbournians are sports crazy for not only basketball but for any sport, with professional soccer, rugby and of course Australian Rules Football teams based in town. Australian rules is a strange combination of soccer, football and basketball -  the sport takes over the city each winter with crowds regularly in excess of 50,000 fans - it’s a must do for any team whilst in Melbourne.

Downtown Melbourne is easily accessible by foot and has loads of attractions, and the city’s laneways each have their own character and host many of the city’s best eateries. A stay in Melbourne often includes a day trip or two to popular destinations such as Healesville Sanctuary (Australian wildlife park), the Great Ocean Road (listed as one of the great drives of the world) or the Phillip Island Penguin Parade.

Melbourne’s sports crazed atmosphere is a hit with every visiting team.
