USA College Tour—November 2008 |
|
Showtime Basketball have been the market leaders in providing college programs in the USA information on the best players to come out of Australia. Showtime Basketball were able to bring some of Australia’s best talent to the USA to compete in exhibition games against NCAA Division One programs during November 2007. The 2008 Showtime Basketball tour of the USA will provide college programs on both coasts of the USA to hosting some of Australia’s best up and coming talent. The teams will be touring to the northwest of the USA visiting programs in Washington, Idaho and California’s bay area. The second tour will be focusing on the US east coast with a series of games scheduled between New York City and Washington, DC with possible stopovers on the return leg in Texas and southern California. For colleges still interested in hosting one of our touring teams, we still have some limited dates available—contact Showtime Basketball ASAP to lock in a date. We also have limited availability for a small number of players interested in being a part of either tour, once again prospective players are urged to contact Showtime Basketball ASAP. These tours are not only a great opportunity for college programs in the USA, the tour allowed these talented high school basketballers from Australia to experience the ’college lifestyle’ first hand. Playing in front of college crowds, visiting college campuses and meeting coaching staff at various colleges throughout the USA. These factors will be an invaluable asset to these players in their college selection process. The Showtime Basketball USA Tours continue on from the successful ‘Showtime Skins’ 2007 USA Tour. This tour provided college programs in the USA an opportunity to evaluate and recruit the best of Australian talent first hand. The ‘Skins’ competed in seven games throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota and Ohio during November 2007. The ‘Skins’ spent approx 2 hours on campus at each institution allowing the coaching staff to outline the strengths of their program, present their facilities and communicate with these prospective recruits.
